Terms and conditions

1. Introduction

1.1. The Optional Damage Insurance (referred to as "Insurance") is an optional service provided by MiniRent.

1.2. The Insurance is designed to offer coverage for potential damages to the rented items during the rental period.

2. Coverage

2.1. The Insurance covers accidental damage to the rented items, including, but not limited to, tears in fabric, broken parts, or other damage to the product.

2.2. The maximum coverage limit of the Insurance is 50,000 ISK.

3. Insurance Cost and Payment

3.1. The cost of the Insurance is 3,990 ISK per rental agreement regardless of the total amount of the rental or the quantity of products rented. The insurance covers all items rented under the same booking.

3.2. The Insurance fee is to be paid in addition to the regular rental fee and is non-refundable. It needs to be added to the cart separately. Customers will get an option to add the insurance to the cart when they open their cart before finishing the booking.

4. Exclusions

4.1. The Insurance does not cover theft or loss of items during the rental period.

4.2. The Insurance does not cover damages caused by negligence or intentional misuse of the baby gear items.

4.3 The Insurance does not cover damages on strollers and/or car during flights unless the item was packed in a padded bag as stated in MiniRent's terms and conditions.

5. Reporting Damages

5.1. In the event of damage to any rented item, the customer must report it to MiniRent immediately.

5.2. The customer shall notify MiniRent of any damages via email (minirent@minirent.is)

5.3. Failure to report damages promptly may result in the forfeiture of insurance coverage.

6. Damage Assessment and Repair/Replacement

6.1. Upon receiving a damage report, we will assess the extent of the damage.

6.2. If the repair or replacement cost of the damaged item is less than or equal to 50,000 ISK, the Insurance will cover the expense.

6.3. If the repair or replacement cost exceeds 50,000 ISK, the customer will be responsible for covering the difference.

7. Insurance Voidance

7.1. The Insurance coverage will be voided if damages are a result of negligence, intentional misuse, or any action in violation of the rental agreement.

7.2. The Insurance coverage will also be voided in cases of theft or loss of the rented item.

7.2 The Insurance coverage will also be voided if strollers/car seats are brought as check-in luggage without being packed in a padded bag.

8. Conclusion

8.1. By choosing to purchase the MiniRent Optional Damage Insurance, the customer agrees to comply with the terms and conditions outlined in this document.

8.2. The Insurance provides valuable protection against accidental damages to the rented items, giving you peace of mind during your rental period.
